Cascarón Bash is dedicated to addressing disparities in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) education among minority youth. #DIY Hispanics make up 16% of the American workforce, but only represent 6% of scientist and engineers, according to the National Science Foundation. Our goal is advance the STEAM pipeline and prepare them for the 21st century workforce.
We are proud that over the last seven years, Cascaron Bash has successfully raised thousands of dollars for local STEAM programs that benefit the youth of our community.
Past recipients include: San Antonio Education Partnership, Girls Scouts of South Texas, Texas A&M San Antonio, HIPSA (Hispanics Inspiring Students Performance and Achievement), Our Lady of the Lake and multiple others.

Now in existence for over seven years, Cascaron Bash, founded by Janie M. Gonzalez, Webhead CEO and it’s company’s Geeks in Sneaks, Corporate Giving Program. The event has transformed into its own standalone annual charity event to support local education efforts in Science, Technology, Education, Arts and Math (STEAM) for scholarship, leadership development activities and other various programs to help prepare our youth and young adults for the 21st-century job market.

This year the event will take place at Beethoven Maennerchor, a fun, family-friendly environment for everyone in the heart of South Town. We plan to merge the Hispanic and German culture traditions of Easter festivities.
It doesn’t matter if you have Hispanic or German heritage or simply want to embrace the festivities – everyone is encouraged to wear Fiesta or Bavarian attire at Cascaron Bash.
